Overview

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH is seeking a full-time, BC/BE Hospitalist to join our Academic Section of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. Affiliated with The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, this position will involve delivering high-quality, team-based inpatient care and participating in innovative, inpatient resident and medical student teaching. This position includes a recommendation of a faculty appointment at The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth at a rank commensurate with experience. Research opportunities are also a possibility.

Hospital Medicine Expectations:

The Physician will be expected to contribute to the clinical activities of the Section of Hospital Medicine Hospital Medicine encompasses the broad spectrum of patient care at an academic tertiary care institution. While the following descriptions of our clinical activities and services represent our best estimate of the Physician's anticipated work assignments under our current structure, they are subject to change as the Section intermittently finds it necessary to adjust the structure to improve care delivery and educational effectiveness.

Traditional hospitalists working 1.0 clinical FTE are assigned 28 weeks of service per year, comprised of the following roles-

Inpatient Teaching Service (M2)

Hospitalist Service

Admitter Service

Triage/Consult

Night Coverage

Clinical weeks of service are prorated for faculty who are less than a 1.0 clinical FTE. In addition to the clinical assignments outlined above, backup call is assigned equally to all faculty members, regardless of FTE, with the exception that faculty members who work exclusively as nocturnists are exempt from backup call.

Qualifications

Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)

Post graduate training in residency program

Required Licensure/Certifications

Current New Hampshire Medical License

Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)

Active hospital staff membership
