Job Description
The Environmental Services Aide maintains a sanitary environment essential to the well-being of patients, visitors and staff in accordance with defined regulatory and accreditation standards, and Hospital policies, procedures and practices, including, but not limited to: Ensuring the Environmental Services carts are stocked with necessary cleaning materials on a daily basis; keeping carts clean and sanitary; Surveying assigned unit(s) routinely to determine which areas are occupied and/or will require service, and checking unoccupied rooms to ensure they are ready for a new admission; Ensuring that all trash and regulated medical waste is collected, packed and transported on a timely basis and in a safe manner; Assists in the removal of soiled linen from soiled linen racks and transportation of clean and soiled linen as assigned. ; Ensuring that all patient rooms, treatment rooms, utility rooms, isolations rooms, bathrooms, tub and shower rooms, nursing stations, office areas are cleaned daily with efficiency; ensures that all discharge units are washed and bed is made. All completed discharged units are to be recorded on dismissal sheets provided at the nursing stations; Cleaning specialty units and public areas as assigned; Performs terminal cleaning of rooms; Maintaining and keeping in good repair: all vertical surfaces, drapes, cubicles, blinds, shades, vents, televisions, cleans all glass; Vacuuming all carpets daily, keeping carpet edges and baseboards free of dust, shampooing carpets as assigned, buffing, stripping and refinishing floors as assigned; Responsibilities may include a Linen Room Attendant assignment
Salary Range
$15.75-$18.18 per hour *Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.*
