Job SummaryTo provide a safe and healthful environment for all students and personnel. The nurse will treat student injuries and illnesses, and advise students, their parents, and staff on health-related issues.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide nursing assessment, intervention, and documentation for studentsAdminister medications and provide individual health instructionsComplete, process, and follow up on accident reports with students and staffMaintains reports of all incidents, injuries, and other health problemsCommunicate with parents regarding health-related incidentsSupervises compliance with immunization and communicable disease regulationsProvides emergency aid to students and staff if neededPlanning and implementing school health management protocols and proceduresProviding school staff with current information about students' health concerns and care on a confidential and need-to-know basisFollow district policy relative to delinquent physicals and immunizationsMaintains privacy and confidentiality regarding a student's health and medical information per state and federal lawsManage and monitor reports of communicable diseasesRun an organized, efficient, and effective health officeComplete mandated state health reports
Job Skills/Requirements
Educator Licensure with a concentration in School Nursing; BA DegreeCurrent RN license, AED CertifiedStrong interpersonal and communication skillsIDPH vision and hearing certified preferred7.5 Hours per day, $24.64 per hourApplication Procedure
