Peraton is seeking an
Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
to join our team in supporting our environmental compliance information management and enterprise software solutions. This job is in Clearfield, Utah.The DBA will help maintain Oracle-based development, test, training, and production environments for our web-based applications. The selected candidate will also support information security by configuring the database to conform to federal security standards, applying patches, gathering artifacts, and documenting evidence that demonstrates compliance during periodic security audits. This position will also assist the primary System Administrator in configuring and maintaining the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) OS on test, development, and production environments, in deploying application upgrades to those environments, and in maintaining the local test/development network. The selected candidate will also assist the team in the performance of a wide breadth of tasks related to competencies listed in the Preferred Qualifications section of this job description, many of which can be learned and mastered while on the job. What you will do: Tune Oracle databases to optimize performance in all environments Secure databases in conformance with federal (i.e., NIST) security standards and provide evidence of configurations during periodic security tests and audits Write database scripts to perform one-off DML tasks in support of user community requests and development efforts Provide input and guidance to aid middle-tier architecture decisions relating to database performance Evaluate new technologies, determine viability of solutions, and make recommendations Partner with Data Center operations and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployments, proper documentation and support for applications Maintain several environments, keeping them in-step with security changes and patches, including OS, database, and all vendor updates, while adhering to certification standards and change procedures Perform builds and deployments in support of release testing Provide configuration management in a development environment Support development teams, implementation teams and help-desk teams with requested issues, both local and remote to the site Assist in maintaining systems used to support development, test and production environments supporting operations at the Clearfield, UT office. Occasionally provide after-hours or weekend troubleshooting support to address urgent issues that may arise in the production deployment of a web-based application used by over 150,000 DoD employees
Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience with a Bachelors Degree. Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree Familiar in writing SQL and PL/SQL statements, functions, procedures, and packages Some knowledge in writing Linux shell scripts Some knowledge with Linux OS server administration; preferably RHEL Experience with Oracle database administration Must be a US Citizen Preferred Qualifications: SAP Business Objects administration Apache Tomcat server/HTTP/NTP/Git administration IPSEC firewall administration Familiarity with Apache Maven Postfix and Dovecot E-Mail server administration Spam and anti-virus filtering software Samba file server configuration Benefits: At Peraton, our benefits are designed to help keep you at your best beyond the work you do with us daily.
