OVERVIEWPortland Rescue Mission is seeking a Women's Recovery Growth Leader to serve in its New Life recovery program at Shepherd's Door. If so, we invite you to thoughtfully consider this unique opportunity.THE POSITIONThe Women’s Recovery Growth Leader will have the opportunity to serve program participants experiencing life transformation by overseeing the delivery of case management and addictions recovery program components, carrying a case load of up to 12 women. This person will cultivate transformed lives by equipping the Shepherd's Door community for effective addictions recovery, relapse prevention, and in-depth growth. Join a team of skilled servants to make a lasting difference in the lives of women seeking freedom from homelessness and addiction.EMPLOYMENT DETAILSFull Time, ExemptMonday-Friday, occasional evenings, weekends, and on call availability as neededTHE PLACEShepherd’s Door, Portland Rescue Mission’s women’s facility, is set in a retreat-like setting located in East Portland, designed specifically to support the transformation and growth of women, and women with children, impacted by homelessness and addiction. This 42,000 square foot facility has the capacity to serve 42 adults and 25 children.THE ESSENTIALSOversee, develop, and coordinate the growth of a Family Group of program participants (up to 12 women) through weekly one-on-ones and other interactions, integrating addictions recovery, spiritual formation, and life skills trainingClearly communicate and coordinate with other Shepherd's Door staff about each participant through regular database documentation (including DAP case notes) and staff meetings so that the staff team can work together to provide healing and growthRegularly communicate with volunteer mentors and sponsors to support each participant’s spiritual, recovery, and relational growthEquip and train participants towards a peer-to-peer ministry environmentUtilize the Bible to support recovery, healing, and growth so participants develop the ability to apply it to daily livingSupport participants to become embedded in a partner church resulting in supportive community, accountability, discipleship, and service involvementTeach and lead curriculum, classes, and groups for all participants at Shepherd's Door according to the needs of the programBACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONSA passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and a testimony of continued growth in faithAlcohol/drug certification (CADC 1 or higher) requiredExcellent knowledge of Christian spiritual formation, chemical dependency, addiction recovery, and counseling specific to relapse preventionA personal ethos and work ethic that reflects Portland Rescue Mission’s ministry culture – Highly Relational, Christ-Centered, Joyful ServantA calling to serve women impacted by homelessness and addictionPassionate and skilled in discerning and coaching women to success in Christian discipleship and addictions recoveryProficient in communication, documentation, organization, scheduling, and group and classroom participationAgreement with Portland Rescue Mission’s Statement of Faith and Code of EthicsMISSION AND DISTINCTIVESOUR MISSIONWe exist to demonstrate the compassion of ChristOUR UNIQUE APPROACHFrom the first sandwich that was shared in 1949, to today's fully integrated emergency, recovery, and training services, Portland Rescue Mission is a highly relational ministry.
