JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

27 BedsPopulation Served:
The most frequent diagnosis for surgical procedures are total joint replacements, arthroscopes (uni and bilateral knee, uni and bilateral hip, shoulder), lumbar laminectomy, and kyphoplasty.Patients do not require mechanical ventilation and are hemodynamically stable.Telemetry monitoring is available 24 hours per day.Ages of Patients Served : Adolescent through Late Adult (14 - 60+)Nurse to Patient Ratios:
1:6Roles & Responsibilities
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.Implements and monitors patient care plans.Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment.QUALIFICATIONS
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.The ability to stand for extended periods.Strong technical skills.Basic Life Support (BLS) CertificationCrisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)Knowledge of medical terminologyPassionate about patient careA graduate of a fully accredited RN nursing programTwo years of current med/surg respiratory experienceActive unencumbered Kansas RN state licenseMinimum two years as a travel nurseRequirements:
COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.Participates in relevant continuing education programs.Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
