Absecon Veterinary Hospital has been established in the community for over 40 years, and we continue to grow. We have been American Animal Hospital Association Accredited for 30 years, obtained our Fear Free Certification in 2022, and employ Cat Friendly practices. Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDCompletion of Veterinary Technology AAS or BA/BSCVT, RVT, or LVT CertificationsPrevious veterinary experienceAbility to learn and continually trainPatience and respect for patientsExcellent communication skills, coordination, and ability to take directionAbility to work in a fast paced, high stress environmentEssential Functions:

Must be able to ambulate/move 90% of timeMust be able to move supplies and patients up to 50 poundsMust be able to use Fear-Free techniques to restrain patientsMust have the ability to work in a hospital setting, which includes:

Exposure to potential caustic agents, medical grade radiation, and cleaning productsExposure to zoonotic diseases and wounds potentially inflicted by patientsExposure to moderate to loud noises (such as barking)

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete all treatments as outlined by the attending veterinarian (any and all changes that deviate from original treatment plan or timing must be approved by attending veterinarian)Complete all treatments from the time first rounded through end of shift, when the patients are rounded to incoming technicianEnsuring all patients have a SOAP entered into ImpromedEnsuring all patients' charges have been updated and an invoice has been enteredCleaning/changing patient bedding if neededCleaning treatment areas and tub sinksEnsuring doctors and techs have been fully rounded at end of shift and given financial updates as necessaryCleaning, vacuuming, and mopping the treatment and exam areas (as needed)Cleaning surgical instruments and running them through the ultrasonic cleanerBringing laundry into the laundry room and making sure any pending loads have been changed overMopping and sweeping floorsPrepping charts and auditing for completionPrepping treatment and exam areas for exams or proceduresPerforming other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor and/or management staffAdhering to all Absecon Veterinary Hospital policies and proceduresAttending all team and department meetings as assignedCompleting any required internal trainings or continuing education (CEs) required by Absecon Veterinary Hospital, or as required by federal, state, and/or local licensing/certification boardsEmployee Benefits:
