will service the Central region of the United States

Join our team to create a better tomorrow together!In this specific role, the Area Sales Manager (ASM) will drive revenue and sales funnel growth with direct customers within their assigned territory for Kollmorgen products. The ASM will assume some established customers and be responsible for developing opportunities for new direct customers and new opportunities within existing customers. The ASM will work to foster relationships, document opportunities, and work with their team to propose and present technical solutions for customers’ applications.What You'll Do

Generate revenue and sales funnel growth consistent with company goalsDevelop and execute a growth plan for the territory through prospecting, new account acquisition and development, as well as current account commercial supportResponsible for close collaboration with customers and internal teams to identify customer needs and develop the appropriate Kollmorgen solution to satisfy those needsDevelop, present, and negotiate pricing proposals with customers using value-selling methodsProvide sales and marketing support to customers – being an advocate for the company and the customerAssist in defining and implementing sales and marketing plans with the Product Management team to support long-term sales growth objectives and capture new customersCoordinate, schedule, and execute activities (training, technical support needs, audits, etc.) in the assigned territory in partnership with cross-functional team members as neededAssists in developing standard policies and procedures to support RBS methods and metricsCritical Competencies

30-50% travel requiredA valid U.S. driver’s license is requiredBachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university required; a combination of education and experience considered in lieu of a degreeBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year university preferred8+ years of technical sales experience8+ years of technical sales experience with electrical or mechanical automation products preferred5+ years of B2B sales experience preferredExperience within the motion control industry is preferredWorked within a CRM to document accounts, contacts, and opportunity developmentProficiency in Microsoft Office productsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to develop strategic business plans, tactical action plans, and drive to achieve mutual objectives and goalsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, co-workers, clients, and customersAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentagesAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
