KalVista recently reported positive results from the KONFIDENT Phase 3 study which demonstrated that sebetralstat met all primary and secondary endpoints for the on-demand treatment of HAE attacks and the safety profile was comparable to placebo. The Company plans to submit a new drug application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the first half of 2024 and expects to file for approval in Europe and Japan later in 2024. We also continue to move development forward with an orally disintegrating tablet (ODT) version of sebetralstat, as well as a pediatric indication.About the Role:The Zone Director, Sales – West will be responsible for building, leading, and motivating their team to drive the successful launch of sebetralstat. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for leading, coaching and motivating sales representatives as well as a “rare” mindset built to serve the HAE community.Responsibilities:Attract, engage, coach and develop a high-performing sales team in achieving and exceeding respective region sales objectivesLead regional business managers (RBMs) in the development of strategic business plans to include marketing and promotional resources to affect proper implementationConduct regular field visits and business reviews RBMs, as well as customer visits to ensure proper programs and messages are utilized and commitments metCreate, build and maintain relationships and regular communication with physicians and key thought leaders as well as internal partnersAchieve or exceed sales objectives in regionProvide feedback (verbal, field coaching reports, etc.) following customer and field visits to address and support both the business and career development needs of the individual RBMsDevelop zone-level business plans that accommodate market opportunities to accelerate sales performance and the achievement or surpassing of sales goalsEnsure sales team effectively partners and collaborates with all internal stakeholders on critical accountsConduct regular business reviews with direct manager to track and ensure the attainment of corporate sales objectives, alignment of goals and personal development plans of team membersSet exemplary model for sales team by always acting with integrity and complianceRequirements:Ten (10) years Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical sales experience in the rare disease space with a demonstrated track record of success. HAE sales experience a strong plusFive (5) years experience Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical sales leadershipSuperior verbal and written commuicantion and organizational skills with the keen ability to influence external and interal stakeholders at all levelsStrong analytical, problem-solving and strategic-thinking skillsAbility to travel throughout Zone regulary, and outside territory as needed, to include frequent overnight and sometimes weekend travel. Should live in close proximity to a major hub airportValid driver’s license and clean driving record. As is typical of a field-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation, to travel by automobile, train, plane or public transportationBachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Biology (or similar scientific) or business-related field. Master’s Degree preferred
