About the Job
Duties and Responsibilities.
Prepare instructional materials including syllabus, course objectives, course materials and educational experiences in teaching
Provide three to ten hours of instruction per week to students at both the Twin Cities and Rochester classroom locations.
Assign and submit final grades.
Collaborate with faculty and staff support services to manage course components. Collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and others within the University, Academic Health Center, Center for Allied Health Programs, and community
Qualifications
Required: Earned BS / professional degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or related field; Certification as an MT or MLS (ASCP); Minimum 1 year clinical practice experience in the medical laboratory field; Minimum 1 year clinical practice experiences in one of the subdisciplines of MLS.
Preferred: Earned masters degree or post-professional degree; Documented history of successful teaching; Five years or more practice experience in medical laboratory science.
About the Department
The mission of the Medical Laboratory Sciences Program (MLSP) is one of teaching, research and service. The primary mission of the MLSP is to enhance health by 1) leading clinical laboratory science education with special attention to the needs of the State of Minnesota, 2) pursuing and disseminating new knowledge with original and creative research in the practice of clinical laboratory science, education, and health, and 3) providing educational and collaborative opportunities to academic institutions, health professionals, industry partners and the community.
