What you will be doing

Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changesAssist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement. Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.Draft, Review and update all technical documents pertaining to database. Face internal/external audits pertaining to SQL database

What you bring

5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required. Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Experience with backups, restores and recovery modelsKnowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server. Experience working with Windows server, including Active DirectoryAbility to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams. MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus. Installation/Upgradation/Migration of SQL Servers.Apply any patches or service packs for SQL Server. Configure High Availability/Disaster recovery solutions. Configure automated alerts to send a mail to team if any issues. Work on incidents, change tickets and problem tickets.Setup Maintenance plans for Backups, Database integrity check, rebuild index and Update statistics and make sure to run all the jobs without any issues. Troubleshoot locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts and fix them. Execute all changes of database schema and maintain controlled development database environment.Work closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands. Handle database object deployment to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production. Provide day to day support of high OLTP HA of SQL Server databases- Identify root causes of production problems and work with developers to resolve such problems.
