Who We Are Looking ForState Street Global Markets FX Sales and Trading business is currently ongoing a multiyear strategic growth initiative which will focus in maximizing market share growth rate while expanding into new and emerging foreign exchange markets and products/services. As part of this growth strategy State Street Global Markets Technology is seeking talented Foreign Exchange (FX) IT professionals to join an already established team who will engineer and integrate with the next generation of FX applications. We primarily look for:Creative thinkers who are motivated by challenging problemsDesire to work within a collaborative, team-driven environmentProven success working with large scaling software or financial systemDue to the role requirements this job needs to be performed primarily in the office with some flex work opportunities available.What You Will Be Responsible ForWork closely with other senior developers, architect, product owner, business users, traders, sales and engaging into technical improvement projects.Work on the business delivery projectsLearn and understand technologies used/required for projects.Developing, building, deploying and maintaining applications.Be proactively support the production environment, detect live issue, and resolve them in a certain short window.Operate in a self-sufficient manner, but also identify the right time to raise queries or concerns.What We ValueThese skills will help you succeed in this role:Creative thinker who are motivated by challenging problemsA history of delivering successfully within an Agile environment, and the flexibility and adaptability to operate successfully in such an environmentExperience coordinating the work of a small team of developers, potentially in different locations and time zones, taking ownership of a small to medium projects and running them from its inception to completionExperience working within a financial institution is a plus.Experience using and contributing to Open Source software is strongly preferredStrong analytical skills. The ability to receive and analyze requirements, and propose a suitable solution that adheres to the team’s methodologyThe ability to communicate at the right level with all parties involved, including senior management, developers, architects, and end users, who may be based in different locations and time-zones.Education & Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree3+ years of Java programming experience, preferably working on low latency, high throughput, highly available distributed systemsStrong Java 1.8 core features such as functional programming and LambdaStrong knowledge of Spring framework and Spring Boot.Development and build tools (GIT / Subversion / Clearcase / TeamCity / Nexus / Maven etc)Additional RequirementsExperience in any of the following is highly desirable:Extensively worked on performance-critical, multithreaded systems developed using Core Java technologiesExperience with Caching technologies Messaging frameworks and technologies (Kafka, MQ, Active MQ) Linux / Bash scripting knowledgeRelational databases (Oracle, Sybase) knowledgeAbout State StreetWhat we do.
