Position Description

The Project Accountant will help support the project management staff while primarily supporting the Project Manager and Project Engineer.

Position Qualifications

Business or Accounting degree.Knowledge of construction accounting.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively engage different personality types.Well organized and detail-oriented.A self-starter and great team player.Proficient with Microsoft Office.Must be willing to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of Excel.VBA experience.CPA or CPA candidate.Essential Duties

Work closely with Project Engineers and Managers to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting, revenue recognition, and project billing.Understand contract terms and assist Project Managers in performing project start-up, close-out, internal interim audits and maintaining the life cycle of projects.Work with staff to provide accurate billings to Owners in accordance with contract terms.Review project expenses to ensure accurate posting to projects.Reconcile cost data between project cost ledgers and accounting systems.Develop, manage and maintain cost controls and labor recaps in conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent.Assist with monthly Margin Analysis and maintenance of Cash Flow Forecast.Assist with monthly reporting for Senior Management and Owner.Benefits
