Network Engineer
to work in Quantico, VA. Candidate must possess an active
Top Secret
clearance.
The Network Engineer will be responsible for leading and participating in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. The Engineer will analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required, while using the relevant knowledge and skills to configure and integrate network devices, firewalls, hubs, routers, and switches. The successful candidate will assist in the design and development of complex multi-server environments based on VMware virtual servers; and should have a strong knowledge of the transactional flow-of TCP/IP based-communications at all layers of the OSI model and an in-depth understanding of specific network communications techniques (DNS, IP Routing, HTTP, SNMP, VPN, Firewalls, Email Routing, etc.)
The Network Engineer will provide technical support of network devices through analysis and troubleshooting tools and providing solutions; and provide ongoing network support to address availability issues, overcomes performance problems, and provides overall Level 2 support. Additionally, the Engineer will manage network performance, diagnoses performance problems and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLR requirements; and troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network. The successful candidate will report on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution.

RequirementsActive Top Secret ClearanceAt least five (5+) years of experience with implementation and technical support of network devices, such as Cisco routers, Layer 3 switches, ASAs, and networked serversHands-on experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and relevant Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols (ARP, 802.1q, STR/RSTP, IPSEC VPN, etc.)Knowledge of and experience working with Cisco OSPD and BGP routing protocolsExperience with operating systems, such as Cisco IOS and Cisco ASAExperience implementing and maintaining IPSEC and SSL VPN solutionsAbility to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience designing and documenting process and proceduresCompletion of a degree program, or bachelor's degree in technical fieldPreferred Skills:
