Certified Nursing Assistant

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant in Allentown, PA. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing person-centered care tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and deliver care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. This person will interact with individuals and team members while maintaining the standards of professional nursing practices. We are seeking both FT/PT candidates. Starting pay is $18.47/ per hourResponsibilitiesProvide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities tailored to their Individual Support Plan (ISP)/Person Centered Plan (PCP)Provide treatment and health care procedures ordered by a physician and required by the standards of professional practice or lawAssist with daily routines, including but not limited to cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, maintaining personal hygiene, transfer to and from bed or chair or other locations in or outside the homeMonitor the health and medical needs of individuals and immediately report any concernsMonitor the use of medications through medication administration logsFollow strict OSHA procedures regarding blood borne pathogensAssist with the learning and development of independent and community-based skillsParticipate with individuals in community, social, and recreational activitiesDrive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the communityEnsure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timelyBuild a support network for individuals by developing and maintaining relationships with community members, businesses, and familiesEnsure work locations and vehicles are clean and well maintained to provide a safe environmentEmployees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigationAdditional tasks and responsibilities may be assignedMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentSuccessfully complete a state-approved nurse's aide-training programValid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and reliable transportationCurrent certification and registration with the State Department of HealthOne year of CNA experience preferredComplete all state and agency required training per state guidelinesAbility to work individually and with a team to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesAbility to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supportsAbility to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent time management skillsWorking ConditionsWork in residential programs, day programs, and in the communityTransport individuals utilizing own vehicle or company provided vehiclesSchedule may change due to business needs and may include evening and weekend hoursOvertime may be required due to business needsFrequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be requiredMay be required to lift or move 50+ poundsMay assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory participantsMay be exposed to various medical conditions, communicable diseases, blood, body fluids, or tissuesWhy Community Options?Competitive Insurance Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)Paid Holidays-Including a Birthday HolidayGenerous PTOEmployee Incentive & Discount Programs403b Retirement PlanIncredible career growth opportunitiesSend resumes to: Resumes-LHALLENTOWN@comop.orgCommunity Options is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V
