Excelsior University is seeking a Data Analyst to leverage data to drive strategic initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and achieve institutional goals. Reporting to the Senior Director of Analytics, the analyst will collaborate closely with business partners in Academic Affairs, Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, and Fiscal Services. The role will be responsible for using data modeling and analytical techniques to inform financial decisions, determine ROI, and identify opportunities for efficiency and growth.

This position is based out of the university's home office in Albany, NY with the option of considering remote candidates. Remote employees will have mandatory occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities. Remote employees are expected to be available during work hours 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Eastern time. The University will supply necessary equipment to perform the essential functions of this job (e.g., Laptop, docking station). Employees are responsible for having a workspace where they can participate in virtual meetings without multiple interruptions and noise.

•Use predictive and prescriptive analytical techniques to enable leadership to make informed decisions.•Apply demonstrated knowledge of business modeling and business analysis to develop and maintain cost allocation and return on investment (ROI) models.•Uses various data analytics tools to clean, manipulate, and transform data for analysis.•Work with business and academic leaders to identify deliverables and assumptions for analytical tools and models.•Communicate with data through written and oral reports, using data visualization techniques to present findings in a manner that can be easily understood by nontechnical audiences.•Promote data stewardship and data quality.

A bachelor's degree is required, master's degree preferred, from an accredited institution in business analytics, statistics, finance, or related empirical research field.Higher education experience is preferred. Experience with financial analysis, business development, sales, B2B, or academic partnership data is a plus.Demonstrated knowledge and application of cost analysis related to business modeling, including ROI and direct and overhead cost allocation activities.Demonstrated ability to cogently summarize project findings and their implications, both orally and in written reports.Three or more years of relevant experienceAnalytical mindset and comfort with explaining quantitative analysisStrong attention to detail, thoroughness, and follow throughSkill and experience with data analysis and large data setsStrong interpersonal and communication skills to convey project goals, requirements, and results effectively and positivelyComfortable working with college leadership on a frequent basisAbility to design, analyze and model business opportunities and processesAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

The hiring salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $68,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
