Job Objective:

A brief overview of the position.The position is responsible for the planning, design, implementation and support of Corporate and client LAN/WAN in the areas of VPN, VoIP, Internet Connectivity, Network Security, and wireless. It is responsible for looking across all network infrastructures (WAN, Internet, LAN, Remote Access, Security) within assigned client organizations to design, standardize, optimize and implement network and telecommunications services; utilizing the voice, data and multimedia technologies.

QualificationsEducationPreferred: Bachelor's Degree in IT, CIS, or Computer Science equivalent.

Licensure/CertificationPreferred: Cisco Wireless Network Security (CWNS), CWSP, MCSE

ExperienceRequired: 5 years as a network administratorPreferred: 5 years supporting LAN/WAN/WLAN hardware/software in a health care environment as a network administrator. Project Management experience.

Essential ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.Provides highly skilled technical assistance in completing complex network planning, engineering and architecture.Performs complex design, research and development of LAN/WAN solutions for Enterprise/Production networks including routers, site-to-site connectivity, remote access, data and voice convergence, load balancing, wireless and Internet/Intranet access.Leads the network security architecture and deployment activities and manages daily security issues.Recommends Network modifications to configurations.Provides high-level support and rapid resolution to network problems.Responsible for proactive and direct interface, coordination and development with Senior Management team.Provides senior technical leadership role within assigned client organizations to review new installations and changed to services and infrastructures. Ensures that a holistic network perspective is taken into consideration with respect to standards, practices, technology, vendors and solutions.Provides senior engineering leadership on all design and standards issues; including analysis, development and implementation as well as training and mentoring of technologies and standards to less senior engineers.Coordinates maintenance activities as required within assigned client organizations.Works with Senior Management Team to design and implement methods which improve internal and external IT infrastructure and business applications.Coordinates and directs preventative maintenance of all major network communications systems components.Understands and utilizes available maintenance programs and Network Management Tools and tests equipment to effectively diagnose and repair problems.Writes weekly status reports and other ad hoc reports related to Network problems and projects.Participates and leads when required, the installation and/or changes of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems in accordance with change management practices.Participates on implementation teams to integrate new Network designs into production with minimal impact to client operations.Develops written procedures, engineering drawings, and other technical documentation and keeps them up to date.Provides second and third level support to onsite/on call Support Staff to resolve Wide Area Network (WAN), Internet, VoIP, LAN, and Remote Access issues.Evaluates, tests, develops, and implements existing, on-going, and future and hardware, software, design and configuration standards, platforms and solutions for WAN, LAN, Internet, VoIP, Remote Access ,and VPN infrastructures.Performs other duties as assigned.
