Req #804Position Overview:As the Lead Transportation Supervisor your primary function will be to provide daily leadership and support to Supervisors as they support Clerical Support and Drivers to fulfill operational objectives. The Lead Transportation Supervisor is to clearly and thoroughly communicate job expectations, ensure proper training, and maintain high levels of accountability and follow through with their supervisors. Each Lead Supervisor is directly responsible for overseeing departmental efficiency, customer service, quality, safety, scheduling, sanitation, payroll/overtime, weekly staff meetings, and additional activity within the department.Responsibilities:Supports and facilitates all safety program requirements, DOT & FMSCA requirements and ensuring a non-hostile work environment for all associates.Drives for continual improvement in all safety-related responsibilities through transportationProvides support to Supervisors through coaching, training, and mentoring on a day to day basisOversees all direct report KPI'sMaintains high levels of consistent accountability with all key personnelTakes ownership of departmental morale, taking steps to enhance a positive work environmentMaintains proper scheduling for all departmental needsEnsures that all reporting Supervisors have one-on-one coaching communications with all direct reportsProactive with sustaining the accuracy of all Company Drivers required business reportsTakes active steps to ensure a clean/organized work environment at all timesCommunicates necessary information such as performance updates with all department members and LeadershipDemonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement by initiating projectsEnsures compliance with regulatory requirements; with local, state, and federal agencies.Oversees and drives the day to day performance of your team through leadership and interaction with all associatesCoach a team of highly motivated associates and provide daily feedback on performance and propose solutionsAbility to define and communicate to your team the daily objectives, long-term strategies, and changes in procedural processesEffectively work with peers on people development and building cross-functional teamsFlexibility to work various shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAble to work with suppliers, 3PL operations, transportation, and internal customers on the best possible solution for the business and company initiativesPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipExperience:Must have at least three (3) year of Transportation related experienceSupervisory experience of mid to large team sizes – 5-10 salaried leaders as well as 45+ hourly associatesKnowledge of Warehouse Management Systems such as but not limited to: Voice recognition technology (VoCollect), Employee Management systems (Dayforce/Ceridian), WIMS,E-mail, Voice mail etcSchedule:Sunday - Thursday8:00pm - 6:00amWarehouse Grocery – approx. 50F – 90FWarehouse Perishable – approx. 26F - 60FWarehouse Freezer – approx. 0F - -20FSkills:Safety Culture:
Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates; driving for accountability of safe practicesthroughout shiftPhysical abilities
