Under the direction of the Assistant Clinical Manager/Operations Manager, the Residence Manager is responsible for the management of the Men’s Residential facility and clients. As a team member in the Rehabilitation area, the Residence Manager promotes a climate for effective performance and learning through their attitudes, willingness to teach and learn, and availability to clients and staff. Encouragement is given to the individual to continue to seek experience and training which will enhance their ability to work more effectively with clients.Education and Work Experience :High School graduate or equivalent preferred.Program graduate with continuing involvement in a program of recovery is desirable, but not required.Ability to supervise clients from diverse backgrounds that may include angry, hostile, confused, or frustrated individuals.ServSafe certified or the ability to acquire ServSafe certification within 45 days.Valid Class C Driver's License or must obtain Class C Driver’s license within 45 days with an acceptable driving record and Criminal History.Must meet all state requirements to be in compliance with DOT and Alaska state rules, which may include obtaining a medical certification from an approved provider.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :Must reside on-site in the room designated for the Residence Manager.Knowledge of peer support mentorship, advocacy, and recovery supportUnderstanding of trauma-informed care.Ability to maintain and demonstrate Integrity, resourcefulness, and initiative.Demonstrate ability to support and apply the philosophy and goals of The Salvation Army Clitheroe Center as stated in the Mission Statement.Ability to complete multiple tasks, meet deadlines, observe confidentiality, remain self-motivated, and work with a minimum of supervision.Essential Functions :Facility ManagementEnsure proper maintenance of grounds and buildings, scheduling needed repairs and other maintenance work through the Maintenance request portal, within guidelines provided by the Assistant Clinical Manager/Operations Manager.Provide routine supervision of residence desk, canteen, laundry, and janitorial staff including such training as needed in canteen operations, laundry operations, and appropriate safety requirements for cleaning supplies.Supervise inside or outside workers for special projects or repairs.Order needed supplies for proper operation of the residence including canteen, janitorial, and office.Supervise the Residential Driver and Kitchen (Lead Cook and Cook) staff, assisting staff as needed, ensuring their job duties are completed, and perform Performance Evaluations annually.Coordinate vacation time for the Residential Drivers and Kitchen Staff with the Assistant Clinical Manager/Operations Manager to ensure that coverage for all functions is provided.All overtime for the Residential Drivers and Kitchen Staff must have the written approval of the Assistant Clinical Manager/Operations ManagerPerform other duties as assigned.Client SupervisionProvide orientation of new clients to the requirements of the residence and the program.Assign client rooms in accordance with set procedures. Conduct random locker checks with a second staff as witness as required by review standards, but not less than once per month.Complete appropriate training on medication distribution procedure, obtain medications for clients, observe client self-administration of medication, and complete required documentation.Monitor, facilitate, and supervise client activities including prescription medications, house meetings and devotions, and adding items to Personal Property Inventory.Provide short-term crisis counseling.Provide recreational programming for clients. Participate in all activities at the center, maintaining open relationships with all of the clients.Supervise and/or administer Breathalyzer testing when requested by Clinical staff or when clients return to the center.Supervise collection of urine test specimens, ensuring that proper security procedures are adhered to including labeling and transport.Act as a role model for clients, both as a resident of the Center and as an individual in recovery, in personal dress, and in general behavior.When required prepare and submit Corrective Conduct Report forms and Positive Conduct Report forms in accordance with current policies.Make security rounds each evening before retiring.Ensure that fire drills for the clients are held on a regular basis.Maintain good order and discipline without favoritism in accordance with policies. Recommend discharge when appropriate for those clients whose behavior warrants such a consequence.Help coordinate special events at the facility in cooperation with the Executive Director and Assistant Clinical Manager/Operations Manager. These events include holiday events, retreats, intern dinners, and others as scheduled.Drive a Salvation Army passenger van as part of his duties.Maintain necessary records and statistics as directed.Maintain duty driver list ensuring availability of drivers such as the Residential Driver and Lead BHA’s, for required functions including driving women program participants, if applicable, as routinely scheduled.Know Clitheroe Safety Regulations for the center and ensure that staff and clients follow these safety requirements.Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and laws to help maintain the integrity of the total program.Perform other duties as assigned.Software-related Skills:
Microsoft Word and Excel required; Outlook, working knowledge of integrated database applications, and ability to use new software programs with basic training.Work Environment:
The work environment is located in a Residential Treatment program, with frequent in-town travel to accompany clients to appointments and job sites. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Language Skills:
