SOFTWARE ENGINEER - JAVA/GOAn established and growing software firm is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the FinOps team. The Software Engineer will ideally have a background working in Java and Go. The Software Engineer - Java/Go will work with our finance, technology, and operational teams to continuously improve key Platform billing processes, operational performance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will understand the business requirements and then ensure these can be implemented from a people, process, policy, and technology perspective by working with technical teams and non-technical teams to effectively design, develop, test and launch scalable solutions that address customer needs while meeting our high standards. Excellent communication skills are required as is the ability to develop a full picture of the business problem to build a solution.
ResponsibilitiesDeeply learn our industries served & user personas to successfully take ownership of features from idea to productionRapidly design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systemsDebug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stackFollow best practices to write high-quality, secure, maintainable, scalable, testable, and efficient codeProvide system administration support related to customized applications, user permissions, security settings, and custom objectsCollaborate with the finance team to identify improvements and upgrades that will optimize processes, reduce cost, improve stability, and increase performancePerform other duties as required
Requirements5+ years hands-on experience developing, implementing, and maintaining production codebases3+ years of Java1+ years GoLang experience preferredExtensive experience with SQL / PostgresDemonstrated work developing and deploying cross-system integrations (API, P2P, IPaaS)Experience working independently and delivering business outcomes for ambiguous projects and features across multiple partner teamsDevOps experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes, NATS, and Redis nice to haveDesire to understand the business context for the solutions you are building is requiredHold yourself and others to a high standard when working with production systemsHave 2+ years' experience with ERP systems like Oracle or NetSuite desiredExperience with highly transactional, e-commerce, or finance-related industries desired
