Position Summary:

This position carries overall responsibility for the effective management and administration of the company's Software Development Lifecycle infrastructure, extending from systems integration, through Quality Assurance and Control and into production. Source control, build management, configuration management and defect tracking systems also fall within the sphere of management responsibility. The Senior DevOps Engineer, is charged with implementing and operating a sustainable, repeatable, zero-defect process for the deployment and release of all software supporting the company's commercial business operations. Driving and sustaining substantial business process change is a major requirement of this role.

Principal Responsibilities:

SDLC Control:

Ensures appropriate standards of documentation and management control for promotion of intellectual property from one SDLC platform to anotherEnsures key stakeholders are kept informed of the progress and the state of software deployment activitiesHolds SDLC process owners accountable for the quality and consistency of deliverables in the SDLC process, including both code and documentationAdministers and maintains source code control environmentAdministers and maintains defect and enhancement tracking environmentAdministrates configuration management process for all SDLC platformsDevOps Management:

Designs, implements, and maintains CI/CD infrastructure. Includes automation of build, testing, and deployment processes; custom development of internal tools and system integrations of tooling used throughout CI/CD, SDLC, and audit processes.Maintains and operates technology platforms dedicated to CI/CD processes.Maintains documentation describing system requirements for all build systemsExecutes 100% of all build processes required to create deployable artifacts for SDLC platforms outside the development organizationDesigns and implements repeatable processes for defect-free software deploymentOversees and certifies documentation of all release and installation proceduresExecutes 100% of all software deployments for platforms outside developmentDelivers intellectual property packages to third party escrow service(s) as required to fulfill company's contractual obligations with its clientsLeadership:

Serves as a champion and subject matter expert for software deployment best practicesProvides guidance for continuous improvement of the release and deployment processPromotes and maintains a high level of professional discipline in the release management processQualifications:

Expert-level understanding of SDLC lifecycle concepts, including source control, defect tracking, automated build systems and production control, with emphasis on the Microsoft .NET platformAt least five (5) years practical experience operating a full-cycle SDLC operation, including at least three (3) years at a managerial or supervisory levelPrior experience with SDLC-related business process re-engineeringStrong understanding of both software development and IT (on premises and cloud)Strong understanding of software development concepts, including object-oriented analysis and designStrong attention to detailStrong abilities in technical project planning and leadershipStrong programming experience in C#, Python, and/or Power ShellFamiliarity with Azure DevOps, Git, SubversionFamiliarity with Oracle, SQL Server, and SnowflakeFamiliarity with basic database security administration, including use of roles, database links, fine-grained access control and cryptography to enforce security policyFamiliarity with database querying and reporting using SQL and commercial toolsBasic proficiency with UNIX/Linux (navigation, shell scripting, system monitoring)Familiarity with networking concepts and techniques (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)Familiarity with Windows Server technologies, including IIS and Windows ServicesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComfort in a high-energy, high-visibility, proactive leadership roleAbility to work evenings and weekends when required
