Job Description
We’re looking for experienced, professional CDL B drivers that will share our commitment to our people, partners and planet.
The CDL B Driver works on-site at various retail stores and performs two functions, applying all applicable federal and state laws and DOT, EPA and DEA regulations: Characterize segregate, package and document various types of retail hazardous and pharmaceutical waste. This position is also responsible for the preparation of all appropriate and required documentation to meet State, EPA, DOT and EPA regulations.
This position requires up to 5 overnights per week with paid hotel expenses and a nightly per diem.
Primary Responsibilities:
Travel between customer retail facilities, through assigned territory
Provide services related to managing retail hazardous waste and pharmaceutical waste as well as characterizing hazardous, regulated, and non-hazardous waste.
Properly process lab packs and prepare manifests and LDR’s for hazardous waste shipment(according to State, EPA & DOT regulations).
Maintain / manage own expenses and travel schedule to ensure customers are serviced on a regular and timely basis. Manage route to maintain compliance with 10 day transfer schedules.
Provide training and support for customers on processes, findings and regulatory compliance.
Provide written and verbal reports to customer and supervisor.
Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications:Qualifications
Basic Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
CDL Class B license
Hazmat endorsement required for transporting waste
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of related Industry experience
Tanker, Doubles and Triples Endorsements (if you do not have these endorsements they will be expected to be obtained at company's expense as a condition of employment.)
Ability to operate a CMV and possession of a valid driver’s license free of moving violations and accidents
Knowledge of facility permitting, DOT packaging requirements and OSHA Regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Knowledge of waste routing and disposal of Hazardous Materials
40hr Hazwoper Certificate
Physical Demands:
Ability to work in all climate conditions both indoors and outdoors.
Ability to work safely in proximity to moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, and other potential hazards.
Must be willing and able to wear company-provided personal protective equipment that may include respirator, eye protection, Tyvek suit, protective footwear, etc.
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
