Our client is looking for a
Senior
EMI/EMC Engineer
reporting to the
Director of RF Engineering
to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.Functions
Enhance the EMI/EMC team with technical leadership, grounding their decisions with experience as well as engineering & physics fundamentalsDevelopment of EMI/EMC requirements for spacecraft and componentsDerivation and distribution of EMI & in space environmental requirementsTailor industry standards for spacecraft and missionsWork directly with cross functional teams to guide best practices for EMI/EMC design & testPerform analysis & measurement on avionics sub-circuits, components, and systems to enhance understanding of EMI/EMC performance & riskSupport EMI/EMC qualification test of spacecraft and componentsContribute to a culture of extreme ownership by understanding and articulating to others how EMI relates to all subsystems and disciplines in human rated spacecraftQualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related STEM discipline4+ years of experience working in EMI/EMC/Physics related rolePreferred Skills
Ms or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, or related STEM disciplineExperience in EMI/EMC, in space charging for spacecraft, triboelectrification, grounding & bondingPrior experience in an electronics or electrical systems design roleExperience with software development & modeling in Matlab, Python, etc.Experience with digital communications standards such as Ethernet, RS-422, PCIe, GMII, etcExperience with MIL-STD-461 compliance test (procedures, facilities, equipment, etc)Deep understanding of electromagnetics, plasma effects, and triboelectric effects on spacecraft systemsStrong sense of accountability and integrity with excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to teach people of a multitude of education and industry backgrounds about EMI/EMC
