JOB SUMMARY:
OA Newton is looking for an Assembly Technician who is responsible for reading blueprints and assembling machinery in our Harrington, DE facility.SITUATION:OA Newton designs and produces material handling systems using mechanical or pneumatic conveying for movement of bulk material such as PVC, wood flour, grain, and carbon black, serving the building products and agri-business industries.JOB DUTIES
:
Read and understand blueprints, bills of materials, and job orders
Align, fit, and assembly components to achieve proper operating performance and appearance.
Work with of various electromechanical systems (Motors, pullies, bearings, pumps, blowers, pneumatics, PLCs)
Perform rigging of larger components in a safe and controlled manner
Test final assemblies to ensure functional requirements are met
Monitor inventory of components
Ensure production schedule deadlines are met
Work closely with engineering to correct problems and make product improvements
REQUIREMENTS:Ability to use a wide range of power tools and hand tools
2 years minimum experience and /or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with mechanical systems
Ability to work under minimal supervision and use independent judgement
High school diploma or GED
Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane/forklift. Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to work overtime
