Aircraft Assembly Mechanic

Job Summary

An aircraft assembly mechanic puts together and installs free fabricated aircraft parts to manufacture fixed wing aircraft or aircraft sub-assemblies according to detailed engineering specifications. The Aircraft Assembler must read and interpret aircraft assembly diagram; then The Aircraft Assembler must assemble and fit prefabricated parts to form sub- assemblies, working at benches or directly on an aircraft structure. The Aircraft Assembler assembles fits and installs prefabricated parts and sub - assemblies such as aircraft skins, flight controls, reading, hydraulics and other mechanical systems.

Essential Job FunctionsMaintain the shop in a clean and organized mannerThe Aircraft Assembler puts together and installs prefabricated aircraft parts.The Aircraft Assembler must be capable of following detailed engineering specifications.The Aircraft Assembler inspects each job upon completion to make sure that it is completed in accordance to specifications.Performs assigned tasks with minimal supervisionPerforms routine support equipment inspections and maintains and performs necessary corrective actions to include unscheduled maintenanceOperates assigned aerospace ground support equipment as required.Selects appropriate tools and equipment required to complete assignmentsComplies with all company, OSHA and customer safety regulationsFollows all safety procedures and practices as established by the CompanyRepairs, reworks and replace components or parts to ensure proper operationAssure that all required forms and documents are properly filled in and signed after maintenance work completionSkills and Abilities

Must have own toolsAbility to remain calm, cool, and collected in stressful situationsAbility to be patient and objective in difficult situations with different types of peopleProven ability to work independently with minimal directionThree to five years' experience in aircraft assembly preferredAbility to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction
