** Material Handler****Job Category****:** Distribution **Requisition Number****:** MATER02123 Showing 1 location **Job Details****Description****Summary:**The Shipping and Receiving Associate 1- Material Handler performs several tasks in support of the timely and accurate distribution of Nortek Security and Control (NSC) products. Tasks include but are not limited to picking of customer orders throughout the warehouse and handling of boxes & pallets in the staging areas. Nortek offers forklift training for interested employees.**Primary Responsibilities:*** Picking orders for shipment to customers* Safely maneuvering a cart or pallet jack through limited space areas* Verifying part number and counts of products being shipped* Handling of product in an efficient, accurate, and safe manner* Handling and loading boxes carefully onto the conveyor line or into the trailer* Checking or counting products for accuracy and/or damage* Understand, support, and execute all work in a safe manner using the established procedures* Performs work following department policies and standards* Perform other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor* Operating specific material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required**Knowledge Skills and Abilities:*** High school diploma or general education degree (GED)* One (1) year related experience involved in performing work in a warehouse* Strong attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills* Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods* Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop* Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands**Physical Requirements:**Essential functions of this job require the following minimal physical demands.
