Assistant Building Engineer

Key ResponsibilitesPerforms onsite routine maintenance checksRoutine check-ins with building tenantsOversee and assist in the general repairs and maintenance on properties and manages services of equipment, as requiredMakes necessary service calls on equipment and/or makes arrangements for prompt service workProvide "on-call" response to support operations team during off-hours as requiredCapable of working with various vendorsMonitor jobs to ensure quality and property compliance with job standardsGather bids and prepares estimates for costs of various jobsCoordinate activities with other trade areas, operations manager, or outside contractorsMaintain records of jobs performed, the affiliated billing charges, invoicing and hours workedRecommends improvements, changes, or new techniques or proceduresMust be able to travel to properties located across Colorado region to provide support which may periodically include an extended stay over a weekendExposure to outside elements on a weekly basis to manage any necessary repairs on propertySkills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Education:
Associates Degree - PreferredHVAC Certification - PreferredWork Experience:
4+ years experience in general building maintenance, carpentry, construction, or an equivalent combination of training and experience - RequiredSkills:
Knowledge of general OSHA safety requirementsDemonstrated strong mechanical aptitude and abilityWorking knowledge of common hand tools and testing equipmentMust be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues and internal customers, tenants, ownersComputer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, and OutlookStrong understanding of Standard Operating ProceduresExcellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast paced, demanding environmentBe dependable and reliable and follow through on commitments, producing timely work to required or higher standards, and pitching in to get the job completedSelf-starter, able to work with minimal supervisionBenefits
