Responsible for the operation of the wheelchair and alternative transport units as defined by All American Ambulance Driving Policy. Responsible for the daily inspection and minor maintenance of the wheelchair and alternative transport units, as well as necessary equipment utilized to transport wheelchair and physically challenged individuals. ** _

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inspects vehicle at beginning and end of shift according to established procedures.
Completes appropriate vehicle checklist.
Reports and relays needed repairs, etc., to supervisor.
Responsible for safe transport of patients and riders.
Responsible for a full knowledge of the vehicle's equipment and its proper use always.
Upon arrival at destination, responsible for cleaning, restocking equipment, supplies, and placing the vehicle back in service.
Does not use professional knowledge and skills in any enterprise detrimental to the Company or the public well-being.
Respects and holds in confidence all information of a confidential nature obtained in the course of professional work unless required by law to divulge such information.
Responsible for upholding company standards.
Adheres to standards of personal ethics, on and off duty, which reflect credit upon the profession.
Protects the public by not delegating to persons less qualified any service which requires the professional competence of a Wheelchair Transport Technician.
Refuses to participate in unethical procedures and assumes the responsibility to expose incompetence or unethical conduct of other to the appropriate authority in a proper and professional manner.

Able to drive in normal and adverse conditions.
Skillful in thinking and acting quickly in stressful situations.
Able to function around seriously ill or injured people in a responsible manner.
Able to maintain harmonious relationships with fellow crewmembers, public safety personnel, and the public under stressful situations.
Skillful in the application of appropriate equipment maintained on wheelchair units to the level of the Wheelchair training requirements.
Skilled in use of locator aids to find specific locations (maps, compasses, directories, etc.).
Has full knowledge of rules of the road for wheelchair unit operations
Able to drive in accordance with All American Ambulance standards. Passes all driver examinations, written, and road tests.
Avoids driving infractions, on and off duty, in accordance with Company and insurance guidelines.
Conducts himself in a professional manner while on duty and avoids inappropriate conduct, on and off duty, that may adversely affect the reputation of All American Ambulance.
Able to express self effectively to both medical and lay personnel orally and written in the English language.
Able to deal sympathetically with patients and others.
Reflects the standards of professionalism in appearance with neatness and cleanliness.
Has a good working knowledge of all company policies pertaining to this position.
Special Requirements
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must possess a current valid driver's license.
Must have/or obtain PSC.
Must have/or obtain CPR.
Excellent driving record.
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Must have dependable transportation.
Must be available for recall in times of crisis.
Physical Strength Required
Must be able to lift and move a 40-50-pound wheelchair without assistance.
Must be able to assistant lifting a 150-lb. patient with the help of one qualified individual into a wheelchair.
Due to the unpredictability of this type of organization, it is not always possible to guarantee meal and/or break periods. Therefore, this position must have no physical condition, which would prohibit him/her from working 12 hours or more without a meal or break.
Meet minimum requirements of Physical and Physical Assessment.
Job Responsibilities Related to Patient Privacy
The incumbent is expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the Company's privacy policies, procedures, practices, as required by federal and Maryland law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider. Failure to comply with the Company's policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or association with All American Ambulance.
The incumbent may access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent that is necessary to complete assigned job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment, or other company operations.
The incumbent is encouraged and expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding the Company's policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of that policy to the Chief Compliance Officer.
The incumbent is expected to actively participate in Company privacy training and is required to communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients, and others in accordance with Company policy.
