JOB SUMMARY:

The Vacuum Truck Operator position will be responsible for all activities related to cleaning and removing debris from manholes, sewer lines, storm drains, and other structures. This person must be an experienced CDL Licensed Operator and have the knowledge and experience operating a Combination (Jetter/Vacuum) Truck and all associated equipment. The Vacuum Truck Operator will be responsible for managing the Vacuum Truck Crew and working closely with management and other contractors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.Responsible for the safe and professional operation of a Combination (Jetter/Vacuum) TruckMobilize to each site and safely operate equipmentUtilize easement clearing equipment and remove overgrowthOpen Manholes and other structuresInspect Manholes, Sewer Lines, and other sewer structures using NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP guidelines and recommendationsMaintain equipment in good operating condition by adjusting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing minor repairsAttend various meetings related to assigned projects as neededContinuously monitor work being performed for accuracy and completenessInterface with partners and Field Inspectors in order to ensure that service level agreement is achievedEnsure that files are stored securely under the Data Protection regulations and maintain securityIdentify potential field problems and notify management of any potential problemsResponsible for job-specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality manualPerform related work as requiredRequirements

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma/GED

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2 Years Experience (Preferred) Operating a Combination (Jetter/Vacuum) Truck for Sanitary Sewer and Stormwater Cleaning, but willing to train the ideal candidateExperience with Manhole Inspections and CleaningExperience with Tank Cleaning.Wet/Dry Vacuum CleaningExperience with Hydro-blastingAbility to plan, schedule, and undertake work safely, independently, and professionallyAbility to manage a crew and provide daily directionFlexible work schedule as requiredPunctual and reliableMust be in good physical condition to perform duties assignedThorough knowledge of reading maps and/or GIS InformationPossess the ability to read and interpret maps, plans, and specifications and compare them with various aspects of progress, to detect errorsEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, clients, and property ownersMust have basic math skills to assist with measurements and computations of cleaned quantitiesMust be able to interpret and implement company-mandated safety policiesMust be able to operate a computer and computer software related to word processing and spreadsheetsAbility to multitaskAttention to Detail is critical to overall success in this positionREQUIRED:

Valid CDL License, Class A or Class B both with Hazardous Tanker EndorsementMust have a current DOT Medical Card or be able to pass a DOT physical before the employment start dateLICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS
