:The Forklift Operator is tasked with the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment for the purpose of stacking, loading, storing, unloading, and moving finished goods.This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Team player who aligns and upholds our values: Teamwork, Accountability, Innovation and Continuous Improvement and passion for customer and consumersAttend and actively participate in safety meetings and trainingsAttendance is essential to perform dutiesAlways ensure regulatory complianceAbility to safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts and other industrial vehicles such as rider pallet jackPerform FIFO procedures for all materials and ingredientsLoad and unload product from tractor trailers and store in designated areasPerform basic quality assurance duties including visual inspection of finished goods productsPalletize materials/ingredients/finished productsMaintain up-to-date inventory by reporting and receiving authentication of all discrepancy in inventoryAttendance is essential to perform dutiesAssume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies/procedures and incorporates safety and health in all job duties/tasksAdhere to safe work practices, follows GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediatelyPerform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent years of experiencePower Industrial Truck Operators LicenseBasic power industrial truck operationsMust be able to operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and pallet jacks.Must understand product age specifications related to storage and supplying to production areasExceptional attention to detailBasic computer skillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:Knowledge of SAP preferredForklift operation experienceFluency in a language other than English preferredWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and certain areas require earmuffsOccasional bending and stoopingFrequent periods of sitting, standing, walking and repetitive hand movementAbility to ascend and descend stairsExposure to changes in temperature and humidityManufacturing plant is a large, open floor, some areas have loud machineries, and some areas are wet
