As a Staff Electrical Engineer in our Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team, you will utilize your extensive knowledge and experience in Electrical Engineering to support new product development and existing product expansions. Perform skilled electrical/electronic design duties with the use of applicable hardware tools/equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team comprising of internal resources and external design partner.
• Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tasks, build a plan for completion of these tasks, and track progress.
• Capable of designing new electromechanical assemblies or improvements to existing designs using CAD modeling. Decomposes system requirements into straightforward subsystem and/or electrical specifications and rudimentary designs.
• Generates schematic and related files that are ready for PCB layout.
• Ability to drive PCB layout to the release of fabrication package. Preferably capable of performing PCB layout designs.
• Develop and execute test documentation for electrical designs
• Understand and follow BD processes, design practices, and documentation templates
• Demonstrates and uses in-depth skills and knowledge in area of expertise
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. Advanced degree preferred.
• At least 7 years related experience, or the equivalent combination of graduate-level education and experience required.
• Technical leadership experience in a highly focused cross-functional team including marketing, electrical, firmware, test engineering, UXD, operations, and program management within a large development project is preferred
• Working with operations and manufacturing suppliers to transfer designs to manufacturing
• Experience with electromechanical devices with wireless connectivity and low power devices is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Digital and firmware design and troubleshooting related to microcontrollers
• Wired connectivity and communication with emphasis on LAN, RS485, I2C, and SPI
• Wireless connectivity and communication with emphasis on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
• Schematic, PCB, and PCBA design
• Basic product Safety and Compliance design and mitigation
• Knowledge in the use of the laboratory tools: oscilllscope, DMM, variable DC power supply, etc
• Knowledge in the use of CAD tools(preferably Orcad and Allegro) and simulation tools
