Position Summary:
The Parts Driver delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Deliver parts and equipment to customers and vendors.Pick up parts and equipment from customers and vendors, to be coordinated with the Parts Manager, Inventory Control Clerk, Parts Counter people, or Shipping and Receiving Clerk before leaving.Complete a log at the time of delivery and request recipient’s signature.Unload truck each night. Turn in all paperwork and undelivered parts.Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.Maintain the parts delivery vehicle; ensure it is clean and operating properly.Adheres to Company policies and procedures.Supervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education & Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple reports.
Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one with customers, employees and vendors.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Certifications, Licenses, & Registration:
Current, valid, driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
