This individual will contribute to the development of custom machinery, ensuring it meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety.Responsibilities: Collaborate with sales team to provide technical support and contribute to the development of project proposals, including conceptual design and estimation of engineering effort. Design mechanical systems, components, and assemblies using CAD software, ensuring adherence to industry standards and customer specifications. Generate detailed engineering drawings and documentation, including part and assembly drawings, bills of materials, and assembly instructions. Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes to optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source components and ensure timely delivery of materials. Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation, providing feedback and making design improvements as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, controls engineers, and technicians, to integrate mechanical and electrical systems seamlessly. Support manufacturing and assembly processes, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance as required. RequirementsQualifications:Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution. Minimum of ten years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in the industrial machinery or automation industry. Expertise in mechanical design principles, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling, drafting, and simulation. Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and machining techniques. Experience with design analysis and validation, including finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ASME, ANSI, and ISO. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information effectively. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Preferred: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Professional engineering (PE) license or certification (Desired) Experience with advanced design tools and techniques, such as parametric modeling, generative design, and topology optimization. Knowledge of mechatronics, robotics, and automation systems. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience in project management and cross-functional team leadership. Proficiency in additional CAD software packages and simulation tools. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
