We provide a great deal of creativity fostering a dynamic and innovative environment.**Position Purpose:**The Material Handler is responsible for supporting the procurement planning, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products to meet contract objectives and customer requirements. This involves supporting the Customer Service Representative and other staff in production control, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials stores.**Essential Functions:** *This job description is not meant to exhaustively encompass all potential job responsibilities that will be expected of an employee, but rather an overview of the main responsibilities associated with this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to permit those with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position*Moves freight, stock, and other materials by hand or fork-truck to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers.Places inventoried NSN items into assigned location. Places non-inventories into customer-specific holding areas until it can be loaded into containers for shipment.Uses 4K and 6K forklift along with a RF Gen scan gun to load outbound freight onto trucks / trailers for delivery to customers.Reads work orders and/or receives instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs. Records numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.Follows all safety rules and guidelines and escalates safety hazards or risks to attention of the Warehouse Manager or Lead Warehouse Technician.Performs equipment inspections in accordance with equipment standards checklist.Performs weekly cycle counts and participates in the year-end physical inventory.Maintains knowledge of and works within the department quality guidelines.Performs other duties as assigned.**Hours of Operation**This position will operate Monday-Friday, based on the Warehouse hours of operation.Based on order volume during peak periods, overtime and weekend work may be required.**Travel Requirements**No travel requirements for this position exist.**Supervisory Responsibilities**None.**Knowledge and Skill Requirements:** *any combination of equivalent education and work experience will be considered***Education:**High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent**Work Experience**One (1) to three (3) years proven success in entry-level roles; experience in an automated distribution warehouse facility preferred.Prior HAZMAT certification a plus.**Skill Based Requirements**It is critical that we deliver what our customer is requesting the first time as well as maintain an accurate understanding of our inventory. A successful candidate will have strong attention to detail.Our warehouse works together as a team to accomplish what we need for our customers. Must have a willingness to jump-in and assist other members of the team whenever needed.Ability to maintain professionalism at all times.Excellent internal customer service skills.PC proficiency including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Must be able to secure a license to operate a 4K and 6K forklift, existing licensure preferred. SupplyCore will provide training on this equipment.**Physical Demands:** *The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to move material of varying weight with or without equipment.This individual in this position will be required to regularly communicate with fellow staff to answer inquiries and perform other job related tasks. Must be able to exchange information clearly and accurately in all situations.This position requires mobility throughout assigned distribution center. Must be able to accept deliveries, process orders, unload delivery trucks, stock shelves, and conduct inventory reviews.The individual in this position will be required to read and understand work assignments to determine material and equipment needs.**Work Environment:** *The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.*This is an on-site position. During the COVID-19 pandemic, SupplyCore mandates the use of a mask at all times, 6 ft. social distancing from others, and the wearing of gloves while unloading/loading material.Exposure to an open floor, indoor warehouse environment; expect regular staff interaction and interruption throughout the workday. Steel toed shoes are required when operating in this position.Exposure to loud noises, and hot or cold environments (depending on season).
