JOB SUMMARY: Provide safe transportation for students to and from school.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assignedDrive safely along designated routesPerform complete pre-trip, in-between-trip, and post-trip inspectionsObey traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulationsPick up and drop off passengers at designated locationsFollow a specific time table when on dutyAssist passengers with disabilities to get on the busPrevent or stop unruly behavior from passengersCheck bus tires, lights, and oil daily for basic maintenanceQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and record keeping skillsBe able to perform standard clerical duties, including telephone callsWorking knowledge of all components of a school busWorking knowledge of all laws related to the operation of a school busComposted and positive under stressful situationsAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, and parents in a courteous and tactful mannerDemonstrated self-starter who can work well independentlyEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Experience driving different types and sizes of school buses preferredCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Valid commercial driver's license with B designation, P and S endorsementsAirbrake endorsement with no restrictions (or willingness to obtain)All required certifications for a school bus driver (or willingness to obtain)
