Powertrain System Engineer
required for a disruptive technology company focusing on changing the global energy landscape; supporting green renewable energy integration in the fields of energy storage, electric vehicles and charging technologies.
Our Client, a US based corporation, is in the process of establishing a new US Headquarters, with operational competency in both the US and the Middle East.
They now seek to recruit an adept Powertrain System Engineer to lead the requirements definition and tracking for electric powertrain components.
Duties Include:
Working on several aspects of component and system level testing, including instrumentation, test fixtures and setup, procedures, and reporting for Powertrain.Supporting component and system-level simulations, typically using SimulinkSupport development of 2D, 3D, and analytical modelsAssist with fabricating prototype test setups and hardware-in-the-loop testers to integrate new subsystems with simulated and actual vehicle componentsAssist with electromagnetics, mechanical, and/or thermal design aspect of various components in the E-Axle, including the e-motor, gearbox, differential, axle structure, thermal system components, etc.Perform vehicle, system and component level validation testing for Powertrain (in lab environment)Use experience and engineering principles to develop and specify test procedures and equipment necessary to conduct performance and system development testing on companies engines and transmissions for EV applicationsI
ndividual Requirements:
M.S. in EE/ME, Automotive Engineering, with a specialty working on electric powertrain systems or components, plus 3+ years of industry experience working with electro-mechanical systems, ORPh.D. in EE, ME, MET, Automotive Engineering, with a specialty working on electric powertrain systems or componentsStrong foundation of electrified powertrain concepts (motor, inverter, gearbox, and battery systems), emerging trends, and overall system interactionFundamental understanding of electric powertrains and their testing and validationExperience in testing or developing of electric axles and drivetrainsExperience with the design, construction, implementation, and validation of electric powertrain test equipmentA thorough knowledge of automotive CAN communication, including the ability to create .DBC or CAN database filesWillingness to travel as needed to project sites (Mainland China and Europe, USA and Middle East)
