Please attach a brief cover letter with your application demonstrating your desire to serve the Catholic Church in Religious Education.Primary FunctionProvide primary leadership for the implementation of CCD (Religious Education Program) to children according to the USCCB’s by administrating the parish catechetical programs to build a solid foundation for the Parish community.Primary ObjectivesTo form Disciples of Christ by attending to the growth and development of all persons in the way of Catholic church.To assist parents and families in the faith formation of their children through culturally- sensitive and developmentally appropriateTo encourage all people to listen for and respond to the mission and vocation God has for them.To provide faith community support for all people, and to integrate children into the life of the parish, and the Church as a whole.To promote life-long spiritual formation and education of all peopleTo foster an awareness of the poor and the marginalized through a commitment to service and justice opportunitiesDuties and ResponsibilitiesFaith formation in the Catholic tradition, including all CCD requirements and procedures to lead children.Coordination of monthly/weekly calendarRecruitment and management of adult volunteers, CCD teachers,Coordinates retreats, service opportunities, fundraisers, and other eventsAppropriate, detailed record keeping.Develop and maintain emergency action plans.Other duties as assigned.Prepare, schedule sacramental programs and worship.Design and implement programs to assist parents in deepening their knowledge of the faith and to encourage the practice of Catholic Traditions in the home and life.Keep inventory updated and place the order of textbooks, teaching materials and resources.Support and endorse Diocesan and Parish board.Leadership DutiesAssist in recruiting volunteer catechists for the program and appropriate in-service training and formation for them.Identify and support the training for them.Counsel, advise, & visit students, parents & teachers when necessary.Serve as a member of the Liturgy Council and attend meetings.Work to integrate the total parish religious education.Meet regularly with parish staff for planning and coordination calendar.RequirementsActive, practicing member of the Catholic Church, and excellent knowledge and adherence to Church teaching life.Must maintain appropriate certifications (see below) and attend enrichment courses and programs as appropriate.Desire and enthusiasm for working with all age demographics.Highly self- motivated, creative, energetic, and assertiveDemonstrated spiritual and emotional maturity.Strong organizational skills, including time management, delegation, planning, budgeting, and ability to balance multiple projects at a time.Close collaboration with Pastor and Youth/Confirmation Director to meet the pastoral needs of the whole parish community.Demonstrate capability to carry out administrative and supervisory duties in a timely fashion, utilizing good communication and relationship.Participate in ongoing formation and educational opportunities to keep current on trends in catechetical.Education and ExperienceTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the office, as well as maneuver throughout the St. Rita Parish facility to attend meetings, briefings, and other work-related events. employee must be able to climb stairs.
