Senior Designer at Ralsey Group Ltd. (New York, NY).Duties: Responsible for creating, developing, and executing new innovative digital fashion designs while being on the pulse of trends. Work closely with the Fashion team to identify, conceptualize, and interpret key trends and ideas in digital fashion. Design and develop of colors, prints and virtual swatches. Create CADs and translate them to 3D assets with all details including textures, colorways, and yarn properties. Perform market research and analysis to establish concept, key style, color and textile concepts. Collaborate with the Fashion team to establish key collection stories and mood boards. Develop and present showroom and virtual showroom concepts to clients. Communicate with clients throughout the design process to ensure that designs meet their needs. Review and revise designs created by junior designers to ensure that they are on track with project objectives. Develop new designs based on client specifications for new products. Analyze customer needs and recommend products that will satisfy those needs. Communicate with other team members to decide on materials, colors, and other aesthetic details. Collaborate with others to establish timelines and budget as well as solve problems. Provide alternative design concepts to meet customer requirement.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Fashion and Textile Design, Knitwear Design and Technology, or a closely related field, and 2 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving sweater design within the knitwear industry. Experience must include: 3D virtual and physical knitwear design, including the physical spinning of yarns, factory manufacturing of sweater samples and production, and virtual creation and production of virtual sweaters; working with different silhouettes, yarns, color and print usage, graphics, embellishment layouts, and trim; and 2D mapping, virtual swatches design, and rendering yarns in computers. Experience must also include utilizing the following tools and technologies: knitting machines including Shima Seiki Apex and Stoll; CAD; CLO 3D software; Indesign; and Adobe Creative Suite software, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
