Software Development Engineer, AWS Monitoring & Observability
Job ID: 2556196 | Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc.CloudWatch is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join our team building the next generation of monitoring, observability and incident management services on AWS. You will design, build and operate massively scaled and highly available systems to provide observability into AWS services, applications and infrastructure to millions of customers worldwide.
Key job responsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain highly reliable, scalable software systems that underpin CloudWatch services.
Build innovative new features and capabilities into the CloudWatch platform to solve complex customer problems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues through root cause analysis, balancing time-to-resolution with proper fix implementation.
Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions and debugging sessions.
Drive architecture, design and implementation of systems across object storage, compute, database and analytics.
Collaborate with product, UX and program management to deliver customer-focused solutions.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Seattle, WA, USABASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience programming with at least one software programming languagePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
