Meta is seeking Research Interns to join Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) Multimodal Foundations teams. We are committed to advancing the field of artificial intelligence by making fundamental advances in technologies to help interact with and understand our world. We are seeking individuals passionate in areas such as Computer Vision, Audio and Speech Processing, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Reinforcement Learning. Our interns have an opportunity to make core algorithmic advances and apply their ideas at an unprecedented scale.Our teams are looking for candidates with expertise in the Computer Vision & Multimodality domains, such as: object and activity recognition, scene understanding, text recognition, egocentric vision, multi-sensor fusion, vision-language, 3d modeling, representation learning, virtual content generation, recommendation and integrity, and natural language processing.Our team at Meta AI offers twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long internships and we have various start dates throughout the year. Perform research that enables learning the semantics of data (specifically images, video, text, audio, and other modalities)Brainstorm with research mentors, review literature and existing solutions of a challenging real-world research problemDevelop novel solutions, implement prototypes, and perform extensive experiments to test the proposed solutions in meaningful benchmarks and metrics, analyze the results and verify the conclusionsDraft and polish research publicationsPresent research outcomes to internal and/or external audiencesContribute research that can be applied to Meta product developmentMinimum Qualifications

Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or similarResearch and/or work experience in Computer VisionResearch and/or work experience Machine Learning or Deep LearningExperience in Python, C++, or other related languagesMust obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employmentPreferred Qualifications

Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as publications at leading workshops or conferences in Computer Vision (CVPR, ECCV, ICCV)Experience advancing AI techniques in Computer Vision, including contributions to open source libraries and frameworksProven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as publications at leading workshops or conferences in Speech & Language (ACL, EMNLP, ICASSP, NAACL), or Machine Learning (NeurIPS, ICLR, AAAI)Experience advancing AI techniques in Speech & Language and/or Machine LearningExperience manipulating and analyzing complex, large scale, high-dimensionality data from varying sourcesExperience in utilizing theoretical and empirical research to solve problemsExperience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environmentIntent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-opMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
