Responsibilities
Our client is looking for a Level 4 Systems Administrator to join their team! As a Level 4 Systems Administrator, you will perform orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of a portfolio of mission-critical applications and services supporting a major Directorate within the U.S. Intelligence Community. You will also be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Additionally, you will:
Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency
Perform systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. Provision/harden Linux operating systems
Must have familiarization with scripting and installing applications from root files. Working knowledge of reviewing of security scans, applying fixes to resolve noted deficiencies and ability to work with and run STIGs via a viewer or other automated tools
Other duties may include:
Setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space
Interacting with users and evaluates vendor products
Purchase recommendations for hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery
Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Requirements
A minimum of 8 years relevant experience is required
This position requires strong Linux (CentOS, RHEL, and/or Oracle) skills with current/very recent experience with Linux OS upgrades in a cloud environment
Experience working in an AWS environment and familiarity with console accesses to provision, maintain and monitor servers
Performing snapshots, disaster recovery, performance tuning
Installation, STIG hardening, and patching experience is required
Excellent troubleshooting skills and Tier 1 communication skills
Experience developing and maintaining critical documentation (SIPs, SAGs, SOPs, Getting started guides)
Preferred Requirements
Experience working with Agile scrum teams
Experience with ElasticSearch
Cloud (EC2s, S3, Elasticache), Kafka, Openshift, Docker, Keycloak, Wildfly
PKI certificates, SSL, service accounts experience
Maintaining multiple environment types (physical, virtual, cloud)
Experience supporting security audits and testing events
Education/Certification Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position
A Security+
OR
other active IAT II/III certification is required
Clearance Requirements
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance with a CI poly that has been obtained in the past six years is required.
Please note that our client will consider candidates with a poly that is older than six years but must be willing to retake and pass the polygraph test prior to starting this position.
