About the Role

The Business Development Director at RNGD plays a pivotal role in spearheading new business initiatives in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region. Collaborating closely with leadership, you will be responsible for identifying strategic opportunities and cultivating enduring relationships with prospective clients. Your role extends beyond mere client acquisition; you will actively support, manage, and coordinate the comprehensive business development strategy. By fostering seamless collaboration among teams, you will ensure alignment with organizational goals while emphasizing value creation, customer-centricity, and goal attainment.

Responsibilities

Revenue Growth and Brand Expansion:

Drives an increase in business revenue while expanding the company's presence and strengthening its brand power.

Opportunity Identification and Negotiation:

Presents business opportunities to both executives and management, demonstrating strategic thinking and market insight.

Assists leadership in negotiation and closing of agreements with new clients, leveraging industry knowledge and relationship-building skills.

Networking and Lead Generation:

Leverages personal and professional network to generate leads and identify new business opportunities.

Actively participates in networking activities to expand the company's reach and generate leads.

Client Engagement:

Manages key client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.

Builds relationships with potential new clients, initiating and nurturing connections.

Contacts potential clients through various channels, including cold calls and emails, to establish business relationships and arrange meetings.

Travels to potential client locations for face-to-face meetings, demonstrating commitment to client engagement.

Industry and Community Engagement:

Attends industry events and conferences to promote the organization, build relationships, and generate leads.

Develops in-depth knowledge of company offerings to identify profitable business opportunities and tailor solutions to client needs.

Actively engages in the community as the public-facing representative of the organization, establishing deep ties in the market.

RFP Process:

Develop a strategic approach for each RFP opportunity.

Oversee the creation of the proposal content, ensuring it is persuasive, well-structured, and addresses all requirements outlined in the RFP.

Clearly articulate the unique value proposition of your company's products or services, highlighting key differentiators that set your offering apart from competitors.

Ensure that the proposal adheres to all the requirements and instructions specified in the RFP.

Prepare for presentations or oral interviews with the client.

Conduct a post-mortem analysis after each proposal submission to identify areas of improvement and lessons learned.

Team Leadership and Support:

Leads the Business Development team, providing guidance, direction, and support to achieve business goals.

Responsible for daily execution of the strategic Business Development plan, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Fosters and maintains an entrepreneurial growth mindset within the team and organization.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of business development initiatives.

Regularly track progress against targets and provide timely and accurate reporting to senior management.

Regularly monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize CRM usage and ROI for clients.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in generating and securing business/projects, preferably within the commercial construction industry.

History of successfully securing projects and driving revenue growth within the commercial construction sector.

Proven track record of managing the end-to-end RFP process effectively.

Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to clients as part of the RFP process.

Ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and provide strategic direction in business development initiatives.
