About Kelsey-Seybold Nocturnal Hospitalist Programs
- The Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Hospitalist Programs provide specialized, efficient, and coordinated care for our hospitalized patients in the Houston Metro area. We have four hospitalist pods, but currently the nocturnist programs are only in two separate pods, one at Baylor St Luke's Medical Center and another at St Luke's Woodlands Hospital.
- Baylor St Luke's Medical Center is a tertiary care hospital where we do new admissions and consults at the main facility as well as it's adjoining McNair Campus (Inpatient Rehab and Orthopedic surgery units). Here, there is no responsibility for cross coverage for other existing patients since daytime physicians cover their own patients at night with assistance from house officers and medical residents. There is also no responsibility to cover rapid response teams or code blues.
- At St Luke's Woodlands Hospital, we do new admissions and consults as well as cross cover other existing patients.
- Nocturnists have the option to choose night shifts in either of the two pods.
- Night shifts are from 7 pm to 7 am and it is mandatory for nocturnists to stay in the hospital during their shifts.
- We have excellent 24-hour critical care as well as other subspecialty back-up in both the facilities.
- There is no requirement to perform any procedures.
Qualifications
- Active Texas Medical License.
- Board Certified or Board eligible.
- Have good teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Have a strong work ethic and professionalism.
