General Description

The project superintendent is responsible for all field activities on a project. The superintendent reports to the project manager and is onsite full-time. This position is a traveling role for mid-size retail projects.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide full time day-to-day supervision on site, coordinating all work of subcontractor's and WEO's own forces.Creates and monitors the project CPM schedule, and uses the schedule as a tool to manage the project. Determines the sequencing of work activities and manages subcontractors to follow the sequence.Monitors trade work to ensure it meets the requirements of the drawings and specs.Manages the jobsite safety program, including safety walk-thrus, and makes field crews accountable for adherence to the safety program.Conduct weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors.Manage subcontractors to ensure that the full scope of work is completed per their contract.Understand the project budget and ensure accurate cost coding and management of labor and material costs.Maintain daily log of project activities.Close-out project including punchlist, finalization of subcontract values, assist in the negotiation of final owner change orders, building commissioning, etc.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Building Operations - has a range of experience in field operations and construction means and methods, including project scheduling, management of subcontractors, and project closeout.Coordination - Has the ability to plan and effectively coordinate complex projects with many subcontractors. Has knowledge of the means and methods for a wide variety of building systems and construction types.Safety - Is competent in the management of all major construction hazards through training and experience. Has the ability to effectively identify hazardous conditions and unsafe acts or practices.Financial Understanding - understands project cost reporting systems, and can use them to understand the financial status of a project.Job Specifications

A minimum number of 15 years of total experience, with at least 5 years' experience running projects as a superintendent.Experience should be in mid-size commercial construction with project size up to $20 millionBasic computer skills are necessary (Windows, Excel, P6, Word, etc.).Interpersonal skills - ability to engage with business partners and team members in a constructive, productive way to overcome obstacles and achieve results.
