As a Lyon County PC TECHNICIAN I, you will be responsible for the software system support, personal computers, and training for all personal computers for Lyon County, Kansas. This position allows you to learn our inventory and systems and helps qualify you for advancement. You will work with a team to ensure that all daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Current Class C Kansas Drivers License.High School Diploma G.E.D. or equivalent.Two years of experience in broad personal computer duties with experience in Personal Computer Operating Systems and inventory administration.Hold or obtain all licenses and certifications applicable to this position established by federal, state or local law or regulation within a reasonable timeframe after hire.

Job Description:JOB SUMMARY:

This in an FLSA non-exempt position*. This position is responsible for software system support, personal computer technician and trainer for personal computers for Lyon County, Kansas.The roles, responsibilities, job functions, knowledge, skills and abilities set forth herein may be revised from time-to-time in order to comply with federal and state laws, departmental needs and the changing requirements for this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provide technical support for all personal computers, networks, operating systems and peripherals.Train users in the basics of Windows Operating System and security.Maintain an inventory of all parts of all computers in Lyon County (make, model, year, operating system, software, addresses and users).Maintain logs of service of troubled machines.Create written computer guidelines and procedures to aid in productive use of county assets.f.

Obligation to be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfill duties.Must show up for work on a regular and predictable basis as scheduled.MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:Perform related duties as assigned by the ID Director or the Board of County Commissioners.Attend both required and selected seminars and training programs.QUALIFICATIONS:Requires current Kansas Class C driver's license. Must obtain any license or certification applicable to this position established by federal, state or local law or regulation.Experience:

Two years in broad personal computer duties with experience in Personal Computer Operating Systems and inventory administration.Education : High school diploma, G. E. D. or equivalent required. Business Administration degree would be helpful, but technical training and experience is a must.Knowledge:

Must have the ability to receive, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions. Required to read, write and speak English with the ability to speak a foreign language helpful. Must have knowledge of the total systems functions and the pertinent policies and procedures.Skills:

Operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to operate and service all electronic data processing equipment.Problem Solving:

Extensive problem solving exists in this position.Decision Making:

Frequent decision-making situations arise in the course of this position.Supervisory:

Has limited responsibility for direct supervision of employees. Has indirect supervision of user personnel for training and direction of operations of data processing equipment.Financial/Budgetary:

Must be able to read write and speak English fluently, ability to speak second language helpful.Working Conditions:

Requires sufficient visual acuity to read and write and operate office equipment common to this position.
