Joining the world’s most trusted SSD provider Micron’s Storage Business Unit (SBU) leads Micron’s world-class portfolio of NAND-based solutions for compute-related applications including the definition, marketing, design in, delivery, and P&L for our NAND component and SSDs in PCs, Servers and Storage markets. JOB DESCRIPTION The Senior Director of Storage Solutions Architecture is an integral member of the SBU leadership team as a staff member of the General Manager. This role is like being CTO of the business unit, as you will be responsible for envisioning the future of our technology internally and externally. In this role you will lead a highly technical team of professionals who develop deep technical engagements with customers and partners, identify key future technology trends, drive standardization objectives, evaluate system-level benefits and behaviors and the dependence of storage on them, and set technical strategies for product roadmaps in a fast-paced, agile environment, closely partnered with business, R&D, and technology teams in Micron. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Portfolio

Own the medium to long-term technology vision for our SSD and NAND Roadmap. Define features to optimize and differentiate products, particularly in AI/ML, Database, and Storage applications. Collaborate with various engineering and operations teams to drive holistic new business opportunities. Perform analysis of potential market opportunities, including potential M&A opportunities to provide a basis for investment. Be a resource for advanced technology, architectural, and system trends in the industry. Market Leadership

Lead Micron’s Storage and NAND Standardization Strategy. Drive Quarterly Technology Reviews (QTRs) with Customers and Key Ecosystem Partners. Lead the activities and vision of our Datacenter Workload Engineering team. Lead ecosystem technology engagements to drive innovations to market. Architect, plan, simulate and guide prototyping of systems or new features in support of SBU long term storage solution roadmap requirements. Industry Leadership

Represent Micron in leadership positions at industry organizations and standards bodies. Present publicly on Micron’s behalf. Represent Micron as a Board Observer in strategic investments. Assist the business team and corporate development team in the evaluation of emerging technologies and new entrants. Provide a vision for crafting innovative and differentiated leadership products. Competitive Landscape

Understand the competitive landscape by assisting with the identification of competitive and alternative offerings in the market by assessing strengths and weaknesses. Oversee performance and competitive analysis with other Micron Engineering teams to drive competitive SBU roadmap and MRD development. Provide inputs to the strategy for winning against the competition. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated educational or professional experience to qualify for a senior technology leadership position – typically this will include a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, an MBA is a plus, and demonstrated successful industry leadership experience is a must. Technical Leadership experience delivering solid state storage products to market. Experience in strategic planning, architecture, and system engineering in a storage device and storage solutions. Understanding how memory and storage products impact system performance for a range of workloads. Detailed knowledge of PCIe and NVMe interfaces. Detailed knowledge of NAND flash and solid state drives. Working knowledge of storage device security protocols. Working knowledge of enterprise workload profiles and performance validation techniques. Working knowledge of enterprise storage/networking architectures. Working knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure. Working knowledge of cloud, storage, and compute software stacks such as Linux, Windows, VMWare, Kubernetes, OpenStack. Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. LEADERSHIP SKILLS Thought leadership:

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $209,000.00 - $393,000.00 Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
