Job Description

ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a Software Developer to join ourteam that supports the Federal Aviation Administration in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This role will make an impact by meeting the future needs of our FAA customer that includes securing data across networks in theenterprise.

SUMMARY:

Works independently with minimal supervision. Provides expertise in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems. Experience with software programming in the languages used for NAS and NAS support systems which may include but not limited to languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, XML and SQL. Provides expertise in the development and improvement of software development processes. Must be familiar with interfacing databases to client-side interfaces. Familiarity with object-oriented programming techniques, client/server development, cross-browser development, and Unix/Linux skills maybe required.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provide 2nd level engineering support for NextGen Weather ProcessorSupport software development/testing/integration/troubleshooting activities for NWP systemsReview and comment on system engineering documents; system requirement documents; software testing documents; training materialAttend system design reviews; technical interchange meetings; any other meetings as requested to support program and teamPossess a technical understanding of systems; databases; networking; computing environments; virtualizationProduce efficient or elegant code based on requirementsAble to support software applications in Linux environmentsAble to provide troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing softwareAble to provide end-user functionality support to the field remotely via the helpdeskMay be tasked to support other AJW-171 systemsSecurity

Required:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and five (5) years of related work experience in a computer science or math fieldORMaster's Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in acombination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and three (3) years related work experience in a computer science or math field.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in JavaExperience with Java Messaging Service (JMS) and ActiveMQExperience with UNIX/Linux Operating Systems (RHEL)Experience with Version Control (Git preferred)Preferred

Experience in JavascriptFamiliar with Data Engineering (JSON Schema, XML, Schema Definition, etc.)Familiar with Automated Build Tools (Gradle, Maven, etc.)Familiar with Object Relational Databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)Familiar with Python, C++Familiar with Angular/AngularJS and NodeAbility to work independently, as well as a teamAbility to research and problem solveWork Environment and Physical Demands:
