The Community Foundation currently has assets under management of more than $237M. The Foundation distributes over $27M a year in grants annually.

Position Overview The Director of Donor Engagement will be responsible for implementing The Foundation’s donor service and engagement program. They will be responsible for executing the Foundation’s donor engagement strategies to ensure donors’ philanthropic objectives are met, their knowledge of the community is broadened, and their relationship with CFGC is strong. The Director of Donor Engagement should be an excellent relationship manager to facilitate the process of helping donors explore, achieve, and fulfill their philanthropic goals. This position will be responsible for developing deep, sustained relationships with donors and their families to ensure CFGC remains our donors’ primary philanthropic partner. This entails providing excellent, timely, and integrated service.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage a portfolio of donor relationships (including any and all types of donors) responding to donors’ needs and developing a deep understanding of each donor’s unique needs and wishes, deepening relationships between CFGC and donors.

· Work with President, VP of Philanthropy, and staff to develop and implement the Foundation’s comprehensive donor service and engagement plan that focuses on meeting the needs of current and future donors. This may include staying up to date on best practices, providing recommendations related to strategies, and establishing and tracking key performance indicators.

· With the VP of Philanthropy, communications department, and staff to design and implement briefings, educational forums, and opportunities for donors to learn more about local nonprofits and community needs.

· Plan and execute donor event functions throughout the year.

· Enhance current practices and processes to ensure consistent and meaningful donor stewardship.

· Represent the Foundation externally in meetings with nonprofits and other organizations as pertains to Foundation work.

· Ensure 100% timeliness and accuracy in grant recommendations and in responses to donor inquiries.

· Design and facilitate family meetings to help donors identify shared values and areas of focus and draft corresponding philanthropic summaries and giving plans.

· Ensure that donor contact reports and other helpful profile information is entered into CFGC’s CRM system in a timely manner.

· Facilitate the donor orientation process, including working with donors to identify philanthropic goals, defining how CFGC can support those goals, and providing training on donor website portal.

· Assist with the development of marketing materials to support donor engagement strategies.

· Work with Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications to develop donor-related communications and marketing materials including content for annual giving reports, anniversary cards, website, and annual report.

· Weekly review of all grants from DAFs and ensure accurate corresponding grant letters.

· Serve as liaison between fundholders and CFGC and Finance and Administration Department regarding compliance matters.

· Assist with planning and executing larger CFGC community initiatives as needed.

· Serve as primary contact for other donor relationships that are not DAFs or assigned to a portfolio manager.

· Support Foundation’s planned giving efforts through drafting and monitoring the progress of Letters of Instruction and regular engagement of legacy donors.

· Represent CFGC in the community through creation and delivery of community presentations and speaking engagements.

Key Experiences & Competencies

3 - 5 years of Major or Planned Gift Solicitation Experience and/or Senior Customer Service

Salary Range $75,073 - $88,871
