Spacecraft represent the most pressing unmet need across the entire aerospace industry. As launch costs decrease, more and more companies and governments are launching increasingly large numbers of smaller satellites. For the first time in history, this increase in demand is driving a massive need for spacecraft platforms, known as satellite buses. Satellite buses carry customers’ payloads and are delivered to space on launch vehicles.Apex manufactures satellite buses at scale using a combination of disruptive software, vertical integration, and hardware that is designed for manufacturing. Our satellite buses are truly productized to enable a wide set of missions, ranging from earth observation to communications and more, that advance our future as a society.We are seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and self-motivated sales professional to join our Business Development & Sales team. As an Account Director, you will be responsible for booking new business and managing the end-to-end sales process with new and existing accounts. This Account Director role is primarily a business-to-business sales role focused on accounts with US Government prime contractors.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead generation activities.Build and nurture strong relationships with key defense prime accounts, including new accounts and footprint expansion within existing accounts, to deeply understand customer needs and priorities.Develop and implement strategies to win complex, enterprise deals requiring multiple touch points across customer organizations.Understand customer needs, develop proposals, negotiate terms, and close agreements.Requirements:
U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, aerospace, or a related field.5+ years of experience in sales, business development, and/or capture, preferably with exposure to the aerospace & defense industry.Demonstrated experience sourcing and booking revenue in a government-driven market, preferably space and/or aerospace.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously and prioritize effectively.Exceptional communication, presentation, and persuasion skills, honed through client-facing roles and engagements.Nice-to-Haves:
Direct experience in spacecraft or spacecraft-adjacent markets.Active TS or TS/SCI clearance.
