Associate Senior Associate, Grid Resilience and Transformation Company Summary

Converge Strategies, LLC (CSL) provides consulting services focused on the intersection of resilience, national security, and clean energy. Our mission is to integrate resilience and security as first principles in the clean energy transformation. CSL takes new approaches to resilience strategy development in the face of climate change, vulnerable infrastructure, and determined adversaries. Clients include the military, private sector, and all levels of government with rapid growth in each sector of engagement. CSL has offices in Boston and Washington, D.C. This position is 100% remote, or hybrid in the Boston or DC offices. CSL is focused on the following opportunities: Rapidly deploying clean energy technologies such as solar energy, wind energy, and battery storage to support critical infrastructure and disaster preparedness in states and cities. Scaling-up Department of Defense energy and climate resilience strategies for domestic and global missions. Supporting energy and climate partnerships between companies, governments, and the national security enterprise. Position Summary

The Senior Associate is a full-time position that emphasizes a candidate's professional adaptability, team-based engagement, and willingness to learn. This Senior Associate position will support projects focused on multiple aspects of the clean energy transformation and future resilience of the U.S. electric grid. This includes engaging a variety of energy sector stakeholders in the public and private sectors to develop strategies related to infrastructure planning, energy emergency response, and policy alignment.

Specifically, the Senior Associate will be expected to:

Interview, map, and convene organizations and thought leaders from federal government, utility companies, transmission system operators, and other organizations. Conduct individual research to develop high-quality project deliverables such as white papers, playbooks, and briefing decks. Review, synthesize, and summarize grid planning documents including Long Range Transmission Plans (LRTP), utility Integrated Resource Plans (IRP), State Energy Security Plans (SESP), and other energy infrastructure-focused documents. Support high-profile clients to achieve their policy objectives and business goals, and be comfortable in a client facing role. Demonstrate expertise in written and oral communication skills. Participate in proposal writing for new business capture by coordinating among CSL colleagues and external partners. Connect and leverage professional networks to create new opportunities for collaboration. Travel approximately 25% or as needed, based on safety restrictions. Preferred technical experience: Expertise in the emergency response or national security sectors, specifically related to grid operations and natural disasters. Involvement in infrastructure planning processes including risk assessment and risk management. Technical knowledge of utility scale energy systems, renewable energy, energy storage, and/or advanced energy policy. Including:

Experience with electric transmission and/or distribution systems. Experience with power generation (microgrids, energy storage, engines/turbines, renewables, etc.). Operational experience with electric utilities, Independent System Operators (ISO), or Independent Power Producers (IPP).

Qualifications

Professional or academic experience working with or for large utility providers, state energy offices, and state or federal regulatory authorities. Past work experience with federal agencies, preferably the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, or similar. Ability to thrive within highly collaborative and dynamic teams. Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in public policy, business, engineering or law (MA, MS, MBA, JD, PhD) or equivalent functional certifications preferred. Commitment to Diversity

Converge Strategies, LLC, offers a competitive salary, vacation, and benefits package, including health insurance and retirement benefits. This is a full-time, salaried position commensurate with relevant work experience and education. The salary range is $85,000 - $95,000, and employees are eligible for an annual bonus.
